Louise Bonnet is a contemporary artist based in Los Angeles, California. She was born in Geneva, Switzerland in 1970 and grew up in Paris, France. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and her Master of Fine Arts from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Bonnet is known for her large-scale oil paintings that depict human figures and landscapes with bold colors and thick brushstrokes. Her works are often inspired by images from vintage magazines and popular culture, but with a surreal and dreamlike quality.
Bonnet has exhibited her works in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Her works are held in the collections of numerous institutions, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Hammer Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
